DIY Tree Skirt
This year we are trying to save as much as we can money wise. We were not going to get a tree because we are going on a cruise the 17th - 24th and I didn't want it to die. Well we found out someone is staying at our house and watching Mowgli so now we can!!!! We went out and bought or tree and realized I didn't have any decorations. I asked my sister to barrow some ornaments and all that she had were Pink, Lime Green, Purple, and Blue so I had to make it work. Well her red tree skirt was not going to work for me with all those other colors. I went to Target and tree skirts are anywhere from $20 up which is money I didn't want to spend. I found some DIY skirts on Pintrest that I thought I could attempt plus found a blog that did it step by step you can see it HERE. I went to Hobby Lobby and picked out my fabric and went home to tackle the project.
I cut 3" strips. This is the thickness of the ruffles. You can do what ever you would like your look to be. |
Total spent on the project $13!

Our new fence!
On Black Friday Jeff, his Dad, and our friend Travis started building our new fence. They had to dig each post hole without the machine. We had about 70 post holes. I felt bad for Jeff because his hands were just killing him. On the second day Jeff, his Dad, Travis and Brad all came out to finish. I felt bad because Brad was pretty sick but he was still out there getting it done. Thank you all that helped put it up.
Here it is finished!!! |

Our next project
Thomas yesterday picked up two windows out of the dumpster by the office for us. i have to say I LOVE them but I dont know what to do with them. We have tons of empty walls in the house so we can definitely make room for these guys.
Here are some ideas I found on Pinterest :) Gotta love PINTEREST!
I will let you know which one we choose and the process we do it in.

Our new home has some issues.
So we moved in this week :)!!! Jeff painted all night Wednesday, Thursday and some of Friday. We moved all our things in on Friday. So we got to stay and sleep in our new house on Friday the 28th. When we woke up on Saturday morning we realized we have no heat down stairs! For some odd reason it was the coldest day in October. It was 56 degrees downstairs. We scheduled the heat guy to come out on Sunday to try to fix the problems. On Sunday afternoon we realized there was a leak from the master shower. The ceiling in the family room was bubbling. So we called the builder to come take a look. I now have a nice hole in my family room ceiling. We cant hook up the TV because it would be right below the hole.
